Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno is hiring a part-time Coordinator of Community Outreach in the College of Engineering. The role focuses on managing and promoting outreach to increase participation of minorities, low-income students, and first-generation college-bound students in engineering programs.

The coordinator will organize participation in community events, on-campus STEM activities, recruit and supervise paid mentors, and handle donor reporting, budgets, and faculty grant applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and two years of related work experience OR
• Master's Degree and one year of related work experience
• Related experience in student support functions such as recruitment, coordination of pipeline programs, tutoring, educational support services or related

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outreach activities for the College of Engineering to increase underrepresented groups entering degree programs.
• Organize College of Engineering participation in STEM events and on-campus STEM activities.
• Recruit and oversee paid STEM mentors (STEMbassadors) and collaborate with the Coordinator of K-12 Outreach.
• Maintain donor stewardship reporting, budgets, and participate in faculty grant applications.
