Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking adjunct faculty in Engineering to deliver courses under approved syllabi and assessment frameworks. Instructors will provide instruction, grading, and student support within a semi-regular, semester-by-semester appointment.

Qualified applicants hold at least a master’s in engineering (or equivalent) and two years of engineering experience or a PE license. Teaching experience is preferred; Strong equipment knowledge and programming skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Earned master’s or higher degree in engineering from a regionally accredited institution.
• Two years of work experience in an engineering field or a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• For ENGR 116: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a Technology discipline and two years of engineering experience.
• For ENGR 140/160: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics and two years of engineering experience.
• Preferred qualifications include: SolidWorks or similar, material testing equipment, problem solving in mechanical systems, programming in C++ or MATLAB, circuit theory and design, and teamwork on engineering projects.
• Undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses according to the syllabus and provide effective instruction and assessment.
• Prepare and share course syllabus, and maintain attendance and grading records.
• Be available to students outside class time and address concerns with program chair as needed.
• Meet all scheduled classes and utilize Canvas, PowerPoint, and related tech.
