Job summary

Gwinnett Technical College seeks a part-time Laboratory Professional for EMS to deliver credited Emergency Medical Services courses under the Health Sciences Division. The role reports to the EMS Program Director and supports curriculum development and accreditation compliance.

Schedule: Up to 19 hours per week with non-benefited, FLSA-exempt status. Requires active paramedic credentials (Georgia or NREMT) and prior teaching experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in health-related field required.
• Georgia Paramedic license or NREMT Paramedic; 2+ years as paramedic.
• Credentialed to meet accrediting bodies for courses.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Five years teaching in CoAEMSP accredited program preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, ITLS/PHTLS instructor certification preferred.
• Proficient in instruction and curriculum development.
• Collaborative with faculty, staff, and students; diverse environment.
• Computer literate; familiar with online learning modalities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches credited EMS courses as assigned; follows approved syllabi.
• Prepares lesson plans for classroom and lab instruction.
• Develops program outlines, goals, and objectives.
• Evaluates student progress toward goals; maintains records.
• Maintains required documentation and administrative reports.
• Attends staff development and professional meetings.
• Ensures safety and compliance in training areas.
• Participates in recruitment, retention, and job placement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Gwinnett Technical College.
