Job summary

Brunswick Community College is seeking a Part-Time/Adjunct EMS Instructor to deliver EMS courses through the Public Safety CE program. Responsibilities include classroom, lab, simulation, and practical skills instruction aligned with state and national standards.

The role supports EMS students and credentialed professionals, working under the EMS Program Director. Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, hybrid, or online classes based on program needs.

Qualifications

• Current EMS credential at or above the level for assigned courses.
• Current instructor credentials required by the state EMS authority.
• Current CPR certification appropriate to the instructional assignment.
• Knowledge of current EMS clinical practices, patient care standards, and prehospital operations.
• Relevant field experience in EMS, fire/rescue, emergency response, or related setting.
• Ability to communicate technical and clinical information to students with varying levels of experience.
• Ability to demonstrate EMS psychomotor skills safely and consistently.
• Maintain required professional credentials and instructor qualifications throughout employment.
• Ability to work with diverse faculty/ student population.
• Flexibility of working hours including days, evenings, weekends and online classes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, laboratory, simulation, and practical EMS instruction consistent with standards, policies, and objectives.
• Teach content in accordance with approved curricula and college policies.
• Provide lectures, practical skills, laboratories, and scenarios.
• Demonstrate EMS assessment, treatment, communication, and operations.
• Prepare lesson plans, materials, and skill stations as required by program leadership.
• Evaluate student knowledge, skills, and course objectives using approved methods.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and documentation; submit records on time.
