Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Des Moines, IA is seeking a part-time Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician. You’ll join a fast-paced team delivering gold-standard, compassionate emergency care, including triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.

This role emphasizes a people-centered approach for pet parents in their most stressful moments. You’ll work with doctors and VEG teammates in a high-energy setting, requiring strong communication,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
• Credentialed veterinary technician in the state where VEG practice is located
• 1+ year veterinary technician experience; emergency experience preferred
• Excellent communicator with calm under pressure
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg (up to 40 kg with assistance)

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, triage, and treatments for emergency cases
• Assist with anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing
• Support doctors and team to deliver high-quality care
• Perform CPR and advanced clinical procedures as trained
• Utilize diagnostics, imaging, and sample collection techniques
• Maintain compassionate presence for pet parents during stressful moments
• Engage in team communication to keep care flowing and plans clear
