Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc. is seeking an Emergency Communications Center Specialist at the Main Campus in Columbus, OH. This part-time role supports emergency information flow, activates response protocols, and coordinates resources to ensure timely action.

The position requires a High School Diploma and strong analytical, communication, and multitasking abilities. Experience in emergency communications or healthcare settings is preferred; shifts include 4p-12:30a with rotating weekends

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Effective analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Proficiency with communications systems including computer, telephone, radio, paging, and switchboards.

Responsibilities

Receives and evaluates emergency communications and determines appropriate response based on protocols.
Initiates and coordinates emergency notifications, activations, and resource communication.
Manages concurrent communications and maintains accuracy and professionalism under pressure.
Monitors channels, cameras, and alarms to identify events and escalate as needed.
Documents communications and maintains confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
Collaborates with internal and external partners to exchange critical information and support operations.
