Job summary

Wheaton College, through the Provost Office, seeks a Practicum Program Supervisor (Elementary/Early Childhood) to oversee the student teaching practicum and support teacher candidates in their professional growth.

The role requires a Master’s in education, five years of elementary/early childhood teaching, and strong collaboration with schools and university faculty. This is a part-time spring-semester faculty position with on-site supervision.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education.
• At least 5 years of teaching experience in public elementary or early childhood.
• Strong communication and organization skills, and collaboration with schools and university faculty.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equitable education.
• Experience collaborating in teacher education settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Observe each candidate 3-4 times during the semester.
• Conduct pre- and post-observation meetings.
• Provide actionable feedback to candidates.
• Complete and manage state-m mandated documentation.
• Meet with the cohort weekly (in-person or virtual).
