Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to work with students under teacher supervision. The role may include supervising students in lunchrooms and on playgrounds in all weather conditions.

Tasks performed align with the supervisor's guidance and district expectations. The position requires supporting elementary students, reliable attendance, and flexibility to work as part of a cooperative team within the school day schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement; 60 college semester credits and/ora two-year degree from an accredited college or university.Please include official transcript(s) with application.
• In lieu of college credits or degree, one can complete the Paraeducator Assessments. The passing scores in Minnesota are 65% and70%.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with elementary age students.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Flexibility and the ability to work as a cooperative team member.
• Positive rapport with children including the ability to correct inappropriate student behavior with fairness and consistency.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Working with students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• May monitor and/or supervise students in the lunchroom and on the playground in all types of weather.
• Performs tasks within the level of responsibility of position as assigned by the supervisor.
