Job summary

Rochester Public Schools invites applications for a paraeducator who will work with students under the supervision of the classroom teacher. The position is 5.5 hours per day and 180 duty days per year, aligned with the ESP calendar.

Qualifications

• 60 college credits or a 2-year degree from an accredited college or university. Include official transcripts.
• In lieu of degree, Paraeducator Assessments may be completed (passing scores 65% and 70%).
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with elementary age students is preferred.
• Computer skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Working with students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• May monitor and/or supervise students in the lunchroom and on the playground in all types of weather.
• Performs tasks within the level of responsibility of position as assigned by the supervisor.
