Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is hiring a paraprofessional to support students under the supervision of the classroom teacher. The position includes potential supervision in lunchroom and playground in all weather, and duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum requirements include 60 college credits or a two-year degree (transcripts required) or completion of the Paraeducator Assessments, plus a high school diploma or GED and experience with elementary age students.

Qualifications

• Minimum: 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree; transcripts required.
• In lieu of college credits or degree, Paraeducator Assessments may be used.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with elementary age students is preferred.
• Computer skills are preferred; ability to work in a team.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students under supervision of the classroom teacher.
• May supervise students in lunchroom and playground in all weather.
• Perform tasks within the level of responsibility assigned by supervisor.
