Job summary

The Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a caring, patient Part-Time Elementary School Aide to support students across multiple classrooms. You will provide one-on-one and small-group academic help, reinforce instruction, and assist with behavioral and organizational skills under teacher direction.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, experience with elementary students, and the ability to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with elementary-aged children in educational/childcare settings.
• Ability to work with diverse learners.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Associate degree or related coursework preferred.
• Experience with IEPs or learning differences preferred.
• Knowledge of positive behavior support and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support as directed by teachers.
• Assist students in initiating, organizing, and completing tasks.
• Reinforce instruction and accommodations in student plans.
• Monitor progress and provide encouragement and redirection.
• Support student engagement and classroom participation.
• Respond to minor behavioral concerns with positive reinforcements.
• Help students develop self-regulation and organizational skills.
• Float between classrooms to support teachers and students.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement strategies and prepare materials.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
• Communicate regularly with teachers about student progress and concerns.
• Attend meetings or trainings as requested.
