Job summary

Ascension School, part of the Archdiocese of Chicago, seeks a Part-Time Teacher's Aide to support lunch/recess supervision and preschool activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with potential extra hours in the Extended Day Program.

The ideal candidate will be at least 18, have experience with children (3–14), complete Virtus training, and pass background checks and required certifications. The position offers hourly pay between $15.00 and $16.50.

Qualifications

• Experience volunteering or working with school-aged children (3–14) in an organized setting.
• Respectful, kind, and patient disposition.
• Able to pass Virtus training and ongoing online training; able to pass background checks and drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive atmosphere in the lunchroom through respectful interactions with students.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive environment during recess.
• Assist in resolving student disagreements and redirect students who are not following rules.
• Report any concerns to the homeroom teacher or administrator.
• Ensure a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment.
• Follow directions of administration and teachers during lunch/recess duty.
