Job summary

Manitowoc County's ADRC of the Lakeshore is seeking a Part Time Elderly Benefits Specialist to serve in Kewaunee County.

The position will work approximately 23 hours/week, helping older adults access benefits and community resources. A Bachelor's Degree in social work or a closely related field and a valid Wisconsin driver's license are required.

Applicants will provide information, advocacy, and referrals to ensure fair access to programs and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work or closely related field is required.
  • A valid Wisconsin Driver’s license is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information, assistance, and advocacy to older adults, their families, and caregivers.
  • Assess individual needs and identify programs, services, and community resources that can provide support.
  • Assist clients in understanding and applying for benefits and services for which they may be eligible.
  • Make referrals to appropriate agencies and community partners.
  • Empower individuals and caregivers to become effective self-advocates.
  • Conduct follow-up with clients to ensure referrals and services are meeting identified needs.
  • Provide ongoing support and additional referrals when necessary to help clients achieve positive outcomes.
  • Build collaborative relationships with community organizations and service providers to enhance client support.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in social work or closely related field
