Job summary

Cornwells Elementary School in the Bensalem Township School District is hiring an Intervention Assistant to support English Language Development and related intervention activities. The role works with the English Language Specialist and general education teachers to assist students in developing English language skills, reading, and other related areas.

Hours are 9:15 AM to 1:45 PM, 20-25 hours per week, with a starting date of immediate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Eighteen (18) college credits in education and field experience with school age children.
• Ability to communicate and demonstrate interpersonal skills effectively with students, staff, parents, and educational agencies.

Responsibilities

• Administers achievement and diagnostic tests as the English Language Specialist recommends for students.
• Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning in applicable subject area.
• Assists the English Language Specialist in the completion and maintenance of forms, records and individual student files.
• Supervises testing and makeup work as assigned by the teacher.
• Performs other related duties as may be assigned or necessary for an efficient operation.
