Penn State University Park is hiring part-time Educational Assistants to support a student with mobility impairment during the Fall 2026 semester. Roles include assisting with classroom writing, organizing materials, and enabling access to lecture content.
Duties cover scribing, reading aloud, and helping with coursework and assessments outside class as needed. In-person attendance is required, with a schedule that totals roughly 15 to 20 hours per week and pay of $16.00 per hour.
Student Disability Resources (SDR) is seeking part-time Educational Assistants for a student with a mobility impairment enrolled in courses during the Fall 2026 Semester. The individual(s) hired for this role will assist the student with classroom-based writing, materials organization, and access to lecture content. In addition, they may assist with coursework, assignments, and assessments outside of class as needed.
Time Commitment: This position requires in-person attendance at scheduled class sessions on the Penn State University Park campus. Final schedules will be determined in consultation with SDR based on availability and course coverage needs.
Multiple Educational Assistants may be hired to cover portions of the student's schedule. Applicants do not need to be available for every class period listed above. Additional Requirements: Able to schedule time outside of class to assist with coursework and assignments. Able to work approximately 15 to 20 hours per week. Strong organizational, communication, and note-taking skills. Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
All job-related training will be provided prior to the start of the semester. The individual hired for this role is not responsible for teaching course material or providing tutoring services. Educational Assistants work under the guidance of Student Disability Resources to facilitate student access and participation in academic activities.
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.
