Job summary

Chinese American Planning Council (CPC) seeks a temporary Education and Career Services role to support COMPASS Middle School after-school programming in NYC. The position focuses on curriculum development, academic support, and youth leadership through engaging activities during after-school hours.

The role involves collaboration with the Program Director, data tracking, and adherence to DYCD and CPC requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preference for education/social work/counseling.
• Teaching credentials and experience with elementary/middle school youth preferred.
• CPR/First aid/AED certification required or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Select curricula or create/review lesson plans ensuring age- and developmentally appropriate goals.
• Collaborate with Program Director to implement academic support, STEAM, literacy, and life skills activities.
• Maintain accurate records of staff attendance and professional development.
• Maintain participant attendance, engagement, and progress records; engage families as needed.
• Develop and maintain participants’ progress reports.
• Attend funder/ CPC meetings and complete required trainings.
