Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital's Emergency Department is seeking a part-time ED Tech. 24 hours per week with benefits eligibility. Prior patient-care experience, BLS, phlebotomy and splinting skills preferred.

Responsibilities include assisting nurses and physicians, performing IVs, monitoring patients, documenting in the EMR, and supporting patient comfort and safety. Applicants should have 2–3 years of hospital or pre-hospital care experience or completion of nursing rotations or CNA

Qualifications

• Prior hospital patient-care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Phlebotomy and splinting skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care as directed by nursing or medical staff.
• Assist with IVs, saline locks, and IV fluids.
• Support invasive procedures and monitor patients as needed.
• Document interventions in the EMR and maintain supplies.
• Assist with restraints and behavioral health patients per policy.
• Report concerns to nursing/medical staff promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of care areas.
• Complete patient rounds and aid with transport when needed.
