Job summary

SUNY Niagara invites applications for a part-time Economics Instructor to teach online Microeconomics and Macroeconomics and in-person classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Sanborn campus. The role requires NYS compliance trainings and participation in professional development and meetings.

Candidates must hold a Master’s in Economics or MBA with 12 graduate economics hours. Prior college teaching, especially online with Brightspace, is desirable.

General Description

SUNY Niagara has a need for a part time instructors to teach an online section of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. We also have a need for in person classes on Tuesday and Thursday. Part time instructors will also be responsible completing mandatory New York State compliance trainings. Applicants must be able to attend in-person meetings, professional development, and other obligations on the Sanborn campus.
Remuneration for this position is: $1,008 per lecture hour

Essential Functions

Ability to navigate relationships with diverse populations. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Ability to actively involve and engage students in their own learning. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus and external community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Economics, or an M.B.A. degree with a minimum of 12 graduate school hours in economics.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Any teaching experience, but preferably experience teaching in a college, particularly in a community college.
  • Experience teaching online especially utilizing Brightspace
