Job summary

San Joaquin General Hospital in Stockton, CA is seeking an Echocardiographic Technician (part-time) to support the Med-Surg and Emergency departments. The role involves performing echocardiograms and related cardiac imaging to assist in diagnosis and patient care.

The ideal candidate has completed an approved echocardiography or ultrasound training program and holds current RDCS or RCVT certification, with at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved training course in echocardiography technology or ultrasound technology.
• One year of paid experience performing cardiac diagnostic procedures including echocardiograms.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized procedures such as echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter recording and related imaging; operates and monitors equipment; observes patients and vital signs.
• Sets up equipment for tests, lays out supplies and instruments.
• Obtains pertinent clinical information and applies sonographic techniques to obtain comprehensive diagnostic information.
• Selects operating mode for ultrasonic examinations of cardiac motions and adjusts recording techniques.
• Operates report and image storage systems; stores images in databases; handles equipment maintenance and basic repairs.
• Maintains records, routes to physicians, and manages reports.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and may train other staff.
