Job summary

Stony Brook University is seeking a part-time Cleaner to perform a wide range of cleaning duties across campus facilities, including offices, restrooms, cafeterias, laboratories, and common areas.

This non-supervisory role requires the ability to perform light to heavy cleaning tasks and to follow verbal and written instructions in English. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., 20 hours per week, with background clearance required.

Qualifications

• There are no education or experience requirements.
• Applicants must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
• Applicants must be able to follow and understand simple verbal and/or written instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Cleaners work independently or as part of a team performing cleaning activities (floors, windows, trash, restrooms, kitchens, labs, and common areas).
• Operate hand-operated equipment and detergents to clean lavatories, sinks, and fixtures.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed for cleaning and care functions.
