Job summary

OKLAHOMA STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH seeks Child Development Specialist I–III for the SoonerStart early intervention program in Purcell. Responsibilities include assessing development, coaching families, and delivering services in homes or childcare settings.

Positions are part-time temporary with hourly compensation up to the specified levels based on education and experience. Levels I–III require advanced degrees in child development or related fields; Level II/III require CCPS certification

Qualifications

Level I requires a master’s degree in child development, early childhood education, early childhood special education, developmental psychology, or family relations/child development or a master’s degree in special education with 18+ graduate hours in specified areas.
Level II requires two years post-master’s degree experience and certification as Child and Parenting Specialist (CCPS) within one year of employment.
Level III requires three years post-master’s degree experience and CCPS certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

Educate parents and professionals in child development using materials and curricula.
Collaborate with families to identify goals and develop intervention plans.
Participate in interdisciplinary team assessments and IFSP development.
Provide developmental services in natural environments (home, childcare, etc.).
Maintain confidential records in compliance with regulations.
Provide referrals and community outreach to promote child development.
