Job summary

340 OKLAHOMA STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH is seeking a Special Educator I, II, or III for a temporary part-time role in Purcell. The position focuses on providing health, developmental and educational services for children with developmental delays in their natural environments, including home and childcare settings.

Responsibilities include conducting screenings, assessments, and coaching families, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to monitor progress toward IFSP goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or related field
• Possession of a valid teaching certificate issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Education, certified in Special Education preferred but not mandatory
• Level III requires Master’s degree or 2–3 years experience with Bachelor’s and teaching certificate OR Master’s degree with required experience

Responsibilities

• Provides early intervention services in the child and family’s natural environment (home, childcare, park etc.)
• Participates in family interview and conducts intakes and assessments to determine services
• Staffs individual cases and develops IFSPs with the interdisciplinary team
• Monitors effectiveness of child health and development services
• Maintains confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Works with contracted providers to schedule evaluations and ensure timely services
