Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help people with identified needs pursue their goals through person-centered care. The role offers part-time evening shifts and a starting wage of $17.00 per hour, with a potential raise to $17.50 after six months, plus a $2,500 hiring bonus.

Responsibilities include daily living assistance, documentation, and advocacy in a residential setting supporting up to four individuals.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required; training provided.
• Ability to read and write in English to communicate clearly.
• Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care.

Job description

Looking for a job where you can make a real difference every day? As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you’ll support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person‑centered care.

Pay:

• $17.00/hr!
• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase to $17.50/hr!
• $2,500 Hiring Bonus!*

Shifts:

• Part-time evenings, every other Monday and Friday 3pm-9pm, and 11am-7pm every other Saturday/Sunday

What You’ll Do:

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people with identified needs’ rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and well‑being and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs
• Collaborative, mission‑driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion
