Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of MN is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Minnesota. You will provide person-centered care, build relationships, and support daily living activities in a residential setting.

No formal education is required; training is provided. A valid driver's license and English literacy are expected. You will document care and collaborate with a compassionate team dedicated to dignity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Genuine heart for helping others and commitment to person-centered care.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care and stay connected with the team.
• Ability to read and write in English for clear communication and quality support.
• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record to support community mobility.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check for a safe environment.
• No prior experience or formal education required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene, meals, housekeeping, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for people with identified needs’ rights, needs, and preferences.
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs.
• Collaborate with a mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion.

Looking for a job where you can make a real difference every day? As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you’ll support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person‑centered care.

Pay:

• $16.00/hr!
• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase to $16.50/hr!
• $1000 Hiring Bonus*

Shifts:

• S/S 10-10, W 8-3, Th 8-4; M 8-2
  

What You’ll Do:

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people with identified needs’ rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and well‑being and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs
