Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals with identified needs pursue their hopes and goals through person-centered care. You will build meaningful relationships, provide daily living support, and promote independence.

This part-time role offers shifts in a residential setting for up to four people, with a starting wage of $17.00 per hour and a potential raise to $17.50 after six months.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; training provided.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must pass a DHS background check.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for people with identified needs' rights, needs, and preferences.
• Monitor health and wellbeing and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.

Pay:

• $17.00/hr!
• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase to $17.50/hr!
• $2,500 Hiring Bonus!*

Shifts:

• Part-time day shift, every Tuesday and Thursday 8am-1pm, and every other Saturday and Sunday 8am-4pm
• Part-time evenings, every other Monday and Friday 3pm-9pm, and 11am-7pm every other Saturday/Sunday

What You'll Do:

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people with identified needs' rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and wellbeing and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings

Work Environment:

• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs

• No prior experience or formal education required -we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed
