Job summary

Ameriwell Care in Sparta, NJ is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist a 23-year-old nonverbal individual in daily activities and community participation. The role focuses on promoting independence and meaningful engagement.

This part-time position (approximately 10–25 hours per week) is on-site in Sparta, with the DSP learning and using the individual’s preferred communication methods, including RPM/ASL, to support meaningful involvement and personal growth.

• Supportive approach for a nonverbal adult in daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Help the individual develop life skills and greater independence.
• Accompany the individual into the community for hobbies and activities.
• Learn and follow the individual’s preferred communication methods.
• Be confident, responsible, dependable, patient and kind.
• Learn the individual's unique communication style (RPM/ASL).
