Kindly Direct Care is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in Hazlet, NJ.

This is a part-time role where consistency matters and the DSP helps the individual participate more fully in everyday life, while maintaining safety and following the service plan.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one companionship and support to a 30-year-old adult with autism and mild intellectual disability.
• Support the individual when she defies rules and engages in repetitive behaviors.
• Assist with community activities such as mall visits, nail salon, medical appointments, or walks.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, and other community activities.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Help work toward goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders and routine support as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate with the Kindly team.

What You’ll Do

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support to a 30-year-old 30-year-old high functioning individual with autism and a mild intellectual disability.
• Support individual when she defies rules and engages in repetitive behaviors
• Help individual participate in community engagement such as going to the mall, nail salon, medical appointments, walks by beach, Disney, shows, places with animals.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, social opportunities, or other community activities as applicable.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Help the individual work toward goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

What We’re Looking For

• Warm, patient, dependable, and genuinely interested in building a consistent relationship.
• Able to reliably work the posted schedule.
• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle requirement.
• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but may not be required for this assignment.

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday (flexible)10-2/3 Pay: $17-$21/hour Location: Hazlet, NJ Driving on shift: Required
