Job summary

Kindly Direct Care in North Cape May, NJ is hiring a caring Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities, in-home and in the community.

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday from 12pm–4pm. Pay: $17–$21/hour. Driving on shift is required.

The DSP will encourage independence, assist with errands, appointments, and social activities, document progress, and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

Qualifications

• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.
• Help the individual participate in community outings and errands.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, or other community activities.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Help work toward goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

What You'll Do

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.
• Help a physically independent individual with an unspecified developmental disability participate in community outings and errands. (Individual has some behaviors.)
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, social opportunities, or other community activities as applicable.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Help the individual work toward goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

• Able to reliably work the posted schedule.
• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle.
