Region VII Area Agency on Aging/PACE is accepting applications for a Driver/Transportation Care Assistant (part-time) based in Fort Gratiot, MI. The role provides safe, timely transportation to participants and supports care planning with the interdisciplinary team.

The position requires a valid chauffeur’s license, DOT physical, CPR/First Aid, and the ability to operate a wheelchair-accessible van. Join a nonprofit committed to elder independence and quality care.

Qualifikationen

• Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
• Interest in working with medically frail elders.
• DOT Physical.
• Valid Chauffeur’s Driver’s license with good driving record.
• Experience with elderly population preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to handle confidential information.
• Must have good interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to perform wheelchair/ambulatory transfers between home, center, and van.

Aufgaben

• Provide safe transportation to participants in a timely, competent manner.
• Communicate important information relevant to participant care or the overall care plan to the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Assist on trips to the Center and other appointments to ensure a positive participant experience.
• Operate a wheelchair-accessible van safely and maintain vehicle readiness.
