Job summary

Discovery Commons Hobe Sound, part of Discovery Management Group, seeks a dedicated Driver to provide safe, courteous transportation for residents. This part-time role supports independence and community engagement, with shifts tied to activity schedules.

You’ll conduct pre-trip inspections, assist residents with mobility, secure mobility devices, and report any issues. Prior customer service or transport experience is a plus; CDL may be required depending on the community’s needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; CDL may be required based on community needs.
• Experience in customer service or transportation preferred; senior living experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety procedures and ability to stay calm in emergencies.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility devices and operate vehicle lifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, safe, and courteous transportation for residents to and from activities and appointments.
• Conduct visual vehicle inspections at the start of each shift and complete inspection checklists.
• Assist residents, including those with mobility challenges, into and out of vehicles safely.
• Secure wheelchairs, scooters, and mobility devices during transport.
• Operate radios/cphones and report delays or service disruptions as needed.
• Maintain vehicles in clean, safe condition and perform basic upkeep as required.
• Follow routes and schedules, adjusting for resident safety and service quality.
• Comply with safety procedures, transportation policies, and regulations.
• Provide miscellaneous pick-up and delivery services as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
