Job summary

South Port Square is seeking a part-time Driver to transport residents to activities, appointments and events across Port Charlotte. The role requires assisting residents on and off vehicles, loading items, and coordinating basic vehicle maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of bus/van driving experience; CDL with passenger endorsement is preferred. Benefits include a supportive team and flexible hours.

• CDL Driver with Passenger Endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive vans, buses, or automobiles on regular schedules to meet residents’ needs.

• Load groceries and other items into the vehicle.
• Schedule and coordinate routine vehicle maintenance.
• Clean and wash the vehicle.
• May perform housekeeping functions as directed.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Driver is responsible for the timely and safe transportation of residents to various individual and group activities/functions and medical appointments.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Driver:

• Drive vans, buses, or automobiles on regular schedules to meet residents’ needs.
• Assist Director of Life Enrichment or Life Enrichment Coordinator in assisting residents on and off bus/van, tracking attendance and coordinating equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, canes etc.).
• Load groceries and other purchased items into bus/van.
• Schedule and coordinate routine vehicle maintenance.
• Clean and wash vehicle.
• May perform housekeeping functions as directed.
• Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six (6) months’ experience as a bus/van driver required.
• CDL Driver with Passenger Endorsement preferred

Salary: From $14.00 per hour

$18.00 per hour with CDL License
