Job summary

Freedom Village Bradenton is hiring a Non-CDL Driver to safely transport residents to scheduled activities and appointments and to assist with mobility as needed. The role emphasizes courteous interaction with residents, vehicle safety checks, and accurate mileage/attendance records, supporting independent living and quality of life.

The position requires a High School Diploma, a valid Driver's License, and a Passenger Endorsement, with opportunities for friendly team collaboration, ongoing

Qualifications

• High school education required. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with the residents always.
• Must be able to interpret and follow map directions.

Responsibilities

• Picks up and delivers residents to all scheduled activities and appointments where transportation is needed.
• Complete a safety check of the applicable vehicle before transporting residents to and from scheduled activities and appointments.
• Accurately records vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all scheduled transportation.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, inside and out.
• Transport vehicle(s) to service locations for routine preventive maintenance on vehicle(s).
• Notify supervisor of necessary repairs and vehicle malfunctions.

The Non-CDL Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and courteous transportation services for residents of the senior living community. This role supports residents’ independence and quality of life by transporting them to scheduled appointments, community outings, shopping trips, and other activities. The driver ensures passenger safety, assists residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle when needed, and maintains a positive, respectful experience for all riders.

• Picks up and delivers residents to all scheduled activities and appointments where transportation is needed.
• Complete a safety check of the applicable vehicle, (i.e., car or bus) before transporting residents to and from scheduled activities and appointments.
• Accurately records vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all scheduled transportation.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, inside and out.
• Transport vehicle(s) to service locations for routine preventive maintenance on vehicle(s) as scheduled by supervisor.
• Notify supervisor of necessary repairs and vehicle malfunctions.
• Immediately notifies supervisor of resident concerns, problems, or incidents.
• Make miscellaneous runs for administration errands as necessary.
• Maintain all tools, equipment, and supplies in proper condition.
• Accomplish all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. Must be CPR, AED and First Aid certified.
• Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Job Type:

Shift: Monday -Friday 8am-4pm with occasional evenings or weekends as necessary

Salary: Starting at $17.50 per hour
