Job summary

Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC is seeking a part-time Dockhand at our Florida marina. You will assist the marina team, help boaters, greet customers, and maintain clean docks and facilities to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

The role requires being safety-minded, able to swim, and capable of lifting up to 30 pounds. Weekend and holiday availability is expected; SHM offers training and a full benefits package for eligible employees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SHM members with the best experience possible.
  • Greet all customers in a kind, courteous and professional manner.
  • Orient members and guests to the marina facilities and answer common questions.
  • Assist customers with general boating needs.
  • Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by management.
  • Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times.
  • Comply with OSHA and environmental regulations; follow site rules and expectations.
  • Availability to work overtime when required; weekends and holidays.

The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the marina team in order to serve marina customers and guests by performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to general operation of the docks and assisting boaters. The Dockhand must work to maintain a safe and clean environment throughout the harbor and marina facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide SHM members with the best experience possible
  • Greet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional character
  • Help orient members and guests to the marina, facilities, and answer other commonly asked questions
  • Assist customers with general boating needs
  • Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by management
  • Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times
  • Comply with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and adhere to all site rules and expectations
  • Availability to work overtime when required
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
  • Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area
  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately
Technical and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work safely around the water
  • Must be able to swim
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
