Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is seeking a part-time DMV Lobby Security Guard in Salem to monitor lobby activities, enforce laws and policy, and ensure safety for staff and customers across DMV locations. Role includes potential travel to satellite offices.

Responsibilities include patrolling facilities, handling emergencies, preparing incident reports, and coordinating with law enforcement as needed. A valid driver’s license and FBI background may be required per agency policy.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 1 year of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Valid driver’s license.
• May be required to work a flexible schedule including early morning, evening and/or weekend hours.
• May travel throughout the State and work at various satellite offices for periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Monitors customer flow and maintains lobby security and safety at DMV facilities throughout the State.
• Conducts patrols and inspects buildings, grounds and parking lots to detect safety hazards or threats.
• Responds to fire alarms, emergencies and assists customers and staff.
• Reports potential threats to the Director and law enforcement as appropriate.
• Prepares written reports such as daily logs and incident reports.
• Directs the public by providing information and instruction at entry points.
• Assists during evacuations due to emergencies.
• Maintains professional appearance and demeanor and uses de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Travels to various DMV substations as needed.
