Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 1 year of education and experience after completion of high school.
• License/Certification: Valid driver’s license and/or access to transportation for statewide travel.
• Other Requirements: background investigation with MVR and fingerprints; flexible schedule; potential travel statewide and work at satellite offices.

Responsibilities

• Applies knowledge of legal, state-specific regulations in reviewing and processing DMV requests (titles, registrations, licenses, RealID, permits, etc.).
• Ensures forms are completed and data entered within mandated timelines to maintain compliance.
• Determines financial responsibility for fines/fees, collects payments, and manages cash drawer and deposits.
• Inspects documents for accuracy to prevent fraud and uses verification systems to verify authenticity.
• Handles high-volume customer service at a counter/workstation and communicates complex regulations clearly.
• Administers required tests (vision, knowledge) for licenses/permits and issues materials such as plates and decals.
• Maintains discretion and confidentiality; follows proper disposal of documents and may assist with training staff.
