Job summary

The Seattle Times is seeking a part-time Dispatch-Utility Driver to join our Operations team. The role transports completed products and interoffice mail between Seattle Times locations and regional post offices, coordinating pickups and deliveries with reliability and attention to detail.

This position requires driving a box truck, loading with pallet jack, and maintaining logs, fuel, and vehicle upkeep. Shifts run 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 18–24 hours weekly on Mon/Wed/Fri, with some route

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Washington State Class D driver’s license.
• Experience driving a box truck.
• Clean driving record for the past 3 years.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers and vendors.
• Ability to use pallet jacks and lift gates.

Responsibilities

• Deliver completed products and interoffice mail between locations and post offices.
• Maintain daily delivery logs and mileage records.
• Load/unload deliveries with pallet jack and lift gate as needed.
• Coordinate pickups and deliveries based on routes and needs.
• Monitor fuel, vehicle maintenance, and report issues promptly.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
