The Seattle Times is seeking a part-time Dispatch-Utility Driver to join our Operations team. This role transports completed products, mail, packages, and interoffice materials between Seattle locations and regional post offices, maintaining logs and ensuring vehicles are well-maintained.
Hours are 18–24 per week, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mon/Wed/Fri, with some route-based variability. Requires a valid WA license, box truck experience, and strong reliability.
The Seattle Times, a Pulitzer Prize-winning news organization, is looking for a part-time Dispatch-Utility Driver to join our Operations team! The Dispatch-Utility Driver is responsible for the timely and accurate transportation of completed products to various locations, mail, packages, supplies, and interoffice materials between company locations and regional post offices. This role supports daily operations by coordinating pickups and deliveries, maintaining delivery logs, and ensuring company vehicles are properly maintained. The position requires strong reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors. This position requires extended periods of vehicle operation, including driving a box truck and a company courier vehicle as needed for different routes.
this role is slated for 18 to 24 hours per week, spanning 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with some variability based on routes, volume, and need.

The pay range for this position is $21.30 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
This position requires the successful completion of pre-employment assessments including a criminal background check, a drug screen for controlled substances (excluding cannabis), and a motor vehicle report once an offer has been made. You must be able to provide proof of a valid driver’s license prior to hire. Finally, please note that this is a union-represented position.
