Job summary

The Seattle Times is seeking a reliable Dispatch-Utility Driver to support our Operations team in Washington. You will transport completed products, mail, packages, and interoffice materials between Seattle locations and regional post offices, with driving duties split between a box truck and courier vehicle.

Strong reliability and communication are essential. Responsibilities include coordinating pickups, maintaining logs, and ensuring vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license (Class D).
• Experience driving a box truck is required.
• Clean driving record for the past three years with driving abstract available.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver completed products to various locations, mail, packages, and other materials between company locations.
• Collect and distribute interoffice mail and materials between locations daily.
• Pick up mail and verify postage at designated post offices and deliver to post offices as required.
• Retrieve employee paychecks from Seattle office and deliver to Kent Printing Facility biweekly.
• Monitor email for delivery requests and complete them in a timely manner.
• Stage the box truck and load/unload deliveries using pallet jack and lift gate.
• Maintain delivery logs and report maintenance needs for vehicles.
