Job summary

The Hershey Company is seeking a Part Time Food Service Steward to support Hershey's Chocolate World in Hershey, PA. The role focuses on cleaning, dishwashing, stocking, and assisting with basic food service tasks while upholding sanitation standards.

You will work a mix of weekday, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, with pay starting at $14.25 per hour based on experience. This position offers meal benefits and opportunities for growth within the guest experience team.

Qualifications

• Ability to ensure all dishes and kitchen areas are thoroughly cleaned.
• Capability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Efficiently manage time to handle multiple tasks during busy periods.
• Ability to work well with kitchen staff and follow instructions.
• Understanding of sanitation and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in using inventory management systems.
• Basic math skills for counting and verifying inventory.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of store layout and product placement strategies.
• Must obtain Food Safe Handler certification within 3 months of hire date
• Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and clean used dishes, plates, and utensils from dining and kitchen areas.
• Load and unload dishwashing machines, ensuring all items are cleaned thoroughly.
• Hand-wash items, such as large pots, delicate china, and wooden cutting boards.
• Sanitize kitchen areas, including floors, countertops, and equipment.
• Organize and store clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately.
• Maintain and keep track of cleaning supplies and place orders when necessary.
• Assist Kitchen Staff with basic food preparation tasks and other kitchen duties as needed.
• Unload delivery trucks and stock merchandise on shelves.
• Ensure products are properly labeled and priced.
• Create and maintain eye-catching product displays.
• Monitor inventory levels and replenish items as needed.
• Verify the accuracy of shipments and report any discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist customers with locating products and answering questions.
• Follow all safety and security procedures.
