Alternatives, Inc. is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver in Somerset, NJ to support adults with developmental disabilities in residential settings.

The role offers a weekend rate of $22.75/hr and weekday rate of $20.75/hr, with paid training and opportunities for advancement. The DSP will assist residents with activities of daily living, medication administration, and transportation to appointments, while supporting behavior plans and skills development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening.
• Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/First Aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with daily living activities in a residential group home.
• Administer medications and coordinate transportation to medical appointments.
• Assist in implementing individual behavioral plans and teaching new skills.
• Support community outings and recreational activities based on individual plans.
• Report health and safety concerns and maintain documentation.
