Alternatives, Inc. in Phillipsburg, NJ is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to support adults with disabilities. The role offers pay at $20.75 per hour with weekend supplemental pay and a range of benefits.

Shifts include 3pm-11pm on Sundays and Saturdays, with other days off, and evening/overnight options available. We provide paid training, annual raises, mileage reimbursement, staff appreciation events, and eligibility for a federal student loan forgiveness

Qualifications

• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening.
• CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with developmental disabilities with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Administer medication and assist with meals and transportation to medical appointments.
• Implement individual behavioral plans and teach new skills to residents.
• Encourage community outings and recreational activities and report health and safety concerns with documentation.
• Provide compassionate support and ensure residents' comfort and safety during shifts.
