Job summary

Central State Community Services, Inc. is seeking a Part Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct support in the homes of adults with developmental and other disabilities in Sandusky, MI.

The DSP reports to the Home Supervisor and participates in person-centered activities with residents. The role emphasizes medication administration, observation, safety, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, physician orders, and procedures.
• Willingness to attend trainings and pass exams.
• Three or more positive references.
• Ability to work without immediate supervision.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and insurance.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, and up to 90 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist or provide consumers with all aspects of personal care.
• Assist and supervise consumers in the community and at events.
• Administer and document medications as prescribed and report errors promptly.
• Maintain records and documentation as necessary.
• Ensure safety and prevent wandering of residents.
• Communicate effectively with staff and residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and leadership.
