Job summary

Braverhood is hiring part-time Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with disabilities in Brooklyn, at home and in the community. Bilinguals are welcome and the role emphasizes teamwork and compassionate care.

The DSP will help clients achieve personal goals, work with supervisors on monthly plans, and document progress daily and monthly. Afternoon and weekend hours apply, with focus on reliability and appropriate conduct.

Qualifications

• Experience with the special needs community, preferably with children or young adults.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Must complete online DSP training after hire.
• Punctual and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Foster a positive environment for individuals to be successful in achieving personal goals (e.g. social interactions and daily living).
• Work closely with Case Supervisors on monthly goals and action plans.
• Document services rendered and client progress daily and monthly.
• Provide support for individuals with various developmental disabilities at home and in the community.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and training once a year.
• Submit all paperwork and monthly summaries on time.
• Adhere to all agency and OPWDD regulations.
