Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is seeking a Part-Time Lead for Centerpointe Dining Commons to assist with daily operations, lead staff, and ensure outstanding customer service and food safety standards.

Responsibilities include scheduling, coaching, inventory support, and maintaining cleanliness and organization across dining areas. The role emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and reliable shift coverage on a part-time basis.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of job-related experience; food service experience required.
• Current Food Handler certification or ability to obtain required certification.
• Must demonstrate leadership and ability to provide direction to employees.
• Must possess strong communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Must be organized and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with schedules and assign daily work responsibilities to staff.
• Lead and oversee employees during assigned shifts and ensure tasks are completed.
• Train and coach staff on job duties, customer service, food safety, sanitation, and SOPs.
• Monitor service periods and adjust staff assignments based on needs.
• Conduct routine walk-throughs of dining areas and service stations.
• Ensure proper setup, stocking, sanitation, and breakdown of service areas.
• Monitor cleanliness and organization throughout the facility.
• Communicate staffing, equipment, safety, sanitation, or operational concerns to management.
