Job summary

Olivia Hospital & Clinic seeks a Dietary Aide to join our team, assisting with patient and customer meals and contributing to meal preparation. The role involves handling orders, inventory, and café cleanup to ensure quality service for patients and families.

Strong customer service and the ability to follow guidelines are essential, with ServSafe certification preferred. This position supports a patient-centered care environment and requires adaptability in a changing setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dietary restrictions preferred.
• Ability to follow guidelines and instructions.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Basic cash handling skills preferred.
• Ability to work in a constantly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers food trays for general and therapeutic diets to patient rooms in a kind and courteous manner.
• Prepares food according to standardized recipes and written and verbal instructions.
• Obtains and relays Diet Orders from the computer Diet Census.
• Takes room service orders using proper phone etiquette.
• Stocks and maintains inventory including utensils, napkins, cups, and beverages.
• Prints labels for a-la-carte meals.
• Ensures appropriate portion and service sizes.
• Washes dishes and equipment and stores them properly after drying.
• Uses POS system for customer purchases.
• Cleans café thoroughly at end of day and prepares for morning service.
