Job summary

Lindsay Gardens Nursing & Rehabilitation in Lindsay, CA is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service and kitchen operations under the Cook and Dietary supervisor.

You will learn the food service routine quickly, assist with serving meals, wash dishes, and help prepare nourishments and snacks while maintaining sanitation standards.

The role requires reading recipes, following safety procedures, and teamwork across departments, with lifting up to 50 pounds and regular line checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to read technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine within a short period.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe water temperatures during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary manner and assist the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work in cooperation with personnel in all departments.
