Job summary

Loma Linda Assisted Living is hiring a dietary aide to support our kitchen operations in a skilled nursing/assisted living setting. You will learn the food service routine quickly, assist with serving meals, and help maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

You will check dishwashing water temperatures, operate the dishwasher, prepare nourishments, and participate in orientation and training for dietary staff. Cooperation with other departments is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly and operate the dishwasher.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe dishwasher temperatures during cycles and operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen and maintain clean floors.
• Carry out trash and garbage disposal.
• Store groceries safely and keep kitchen clean and sanitary.
• Support orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with staff across departments.
