Job summary

Platinum Therapy is seeking a qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to support a student in Newark, CA. This part-time (.05) role offers remote/virtual options and a 20-hour workweek, with in-person or remote delivery.

The ideal candidate holds a California Education Specialist Credential with DHH authorization, a Bachelor's degree, and experience with IEPs and accommodations. ASL is a plus, and mileage reimbursement is available for eligible travel.

Qualifications

• Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with DHH authorization or another appropriate California credential/permit.
• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• DHH teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IEPs, accommodations, communication access, and school-based special education.
• Experience supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• ASL proficiency is a plus.
• Ability to provide services effectively in a remote/virtual setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide DHH services and educational support to the assigned student.
• Address the student's communication, educational, and access needs.
• Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and the educational team.
• Support classroom access through accommodations, consultation, and appropriate strategies.
• Assist with communication access and implementation of DHH-specific services.
• Participate in IEP-related activities and collaborate with the IEP team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and service records.
• Provide guidance and strategies to support the student's educational success.
