Qualifications

  • Hold or be eligible for Colorado Educator License with a Special Education Specialist: Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing endorsement.
  • Minimum five years of experience in educational settings with DHH students.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Knowledge of inclusive practices, family engagement, and training design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop statewide tools, materials, and resources for educators, families, and students.
  • Create and manage a shared library of assessment tools for district loan.
  • Coordinate with school teams to support DHH instruction and transition planning.
  • Participate in IEEs and assessments as appropriate.
  • Stay current on state/federal regulations related to DHH education.
  • Represent CSDB at IEP meetings in advisory capacity.
  • Plan and deliver outreach events and professional development.
  • Track program data and report outcomes across Colorado.
