Job summary

Civic Joy Fund is seeking a part-time Development Associate to support fundraising operations, donor relations, and back‑office processes. The role reports to the Executive Director and offers hands‑on experience with nonprofit development in a flexible hybrid setting in San Francisco.

The ideal candidate brings 1–3 years in development, strong written communication, and comfort with CRMs such as Salesforce, Bloomerang, or DonorPerfect, plus Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in development, fundraising, or a related nonprofit role (internship experience considered).
• Strong written communication skills and close attention to detail.
• Comfort with donor databases/CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang, DonorPerfect) and Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.
• A collaborative, service-oriented approach and genuine enthusiasm for Civic Joy Fund's mission.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate donor and gift records in the CRM/donor database, including gift entry, acknowledgment letters, and pledge tracking.
• Prepare donor correspondence, thank‑you letters, and stewardship communications on a timely basis.
• Support grant administration: tracking deadlines, compiling reporting materials, and assisting with proposal drafting and submission logistics.
• Assist with fundraising events (First Thursdays partner activations, donor gatherings, night markets) including logistics, guest lists, and on‑site support.
• Generate donor reports, giving summaries, and dashboards for leadership and board meetings.
• Research prospective donors, corporate partners, and foundation funders.
• Support the development calendar, ensuring appeals, renewals, and reporting deadlines stay on track.
